One of our grade 8 fundraiser raffle prizes was an ‘Escape to the Library’ in which one lucky student and a friend could spend the day relaxing in the library, running storytimes, creating book displays, and checking-in/shelving library book returns.

Our winner, Talia, and her friend-pick Ruby, were so excited to have the opportunity to read to our youngest classes, SK and grade 1.  They also created several book displays including a Harry Potter one and an NHL playoffs one.

They also commented on how relaxing and quiet the library was compared to “Hearing the boys chatting all day in class”, which was pretty funny.

Overall I think they really enjoyed the day, and we kept very busy with lots of fun tasks that these two avid readers really enjoyed.
